DFS’ first outdoor furniture shoot was also the first time they’ve used Virtual Production to deliver a halo of photography content, and saved significant time vs traditional shoots.
Leading UK upholstery retailer, DFS, turned to Capture Studios for their first ever shoot using Virtual Production technology, delivering a halo of channel-specific photography content to promote their new range of outdoor furniture.
Rather than shooting traditionally, either in a set or out on location, DFS chose to utilise Capture’s Virtual Production capabilities, with our team creating a series of virtual garden environments that provided an ultra-realistic backdrop to the shoot, enabling the brand to produce the halo content they needed at a faster pace.
By shooting in Capture’s Virtual Production studios, DFS…
- Saved 50-60% on timings, going from concept to final imagery in under 5 weeks
- Significantly reduced costs compared to traditional set/location shoots
- Eliminated challenges such as poor weather compared to location shoots
- Delivered a halo of channel-specific content that is now live across their digital channels
Virtual Production saves a huge amount of time on shoots by enabling brands to flick between virtual locations in seconds, rather than building entire new sets or moving to different locations.
There is also a substantial reduction in post-production requirements such as retouching, given that the environments are carefully crafted, pixel by pixel, before the shoot takes place.
“The Virtual Production photography is sat alongside traditionally shot products on our website, and you would never know the difference. The technology at Capture Studios enabled us to deliver the content we needed, at a much faster pace, without compromising on quality.”
